Chu’s Aesthetic Gauges designed by Dr. Stephen J. Chu, are designed to help the dentist diagnose tooth size discrepancies, measure them accurately and correct them appropriately. Present armamentarium for such diagnosis consists of calipers, millimeter rulers and polymer-based surgical templates. Chu's Aesthetic Gauges are designed to replace the present armamentaria allowing fast, simple analysis and diagnosis of tooth width and/or length problems as well as gingival length discrepancies.
With color-coded measurements having a predetermined ratio of about 78%, it is
the easiest, fastest, and most precise instrument for diagnosing tooth size and proportion discrepancies.
• Measures length as well as width at the same time
• Color coding predefines desired tooth proportions, and makes it quicker and
easier to read than any other instrument.
• Used as a reference guide between clinicians and lab techs, it reduces the
incidence of errors in the fabrication of anterior aesthetic restorations.
Proportion Gauge gets it right the first time so you can reduce adjustment chair time.

With a predetermined color-coded measurement, it helps achieve the proper
mid-facial clinical crown and biologic crown length during crown lengthening procedure. It also helps establish the correct aesthetic position of the interdental papilla from the incisal edge before the flap is closed and sutured.

Helps provide quick, simple analysis of the osseous crest location both mid-facially and inter-dentally. Used in aesthetic and surgical crown lengthening procedure to determine the bone level before reflecting the flap. Curvature of the tip makes sounding easier, faster and more predictable.
