Personal Questions
What music is playing in your office while you work, or in your car while you are driving?
A little of everything, but Tom Petty, Dave Matthews and Maroon 5 seem to stay in heavy rotation. I'll put on Heather Headley to unwind. Thank God for MP3 players!
Describe your first day as a dental professional.
My first day in dentistry was definitely overwhelming but I was lucky to have good mentors. They made learning tooth numbers and all about dental materials enjoyable. If the learning is made fun, you can pick up anything.
If your most used dental instrument could talk what would it tell you?
My most used instrument in the office is my computer. Without it I would go a little crazy! It would tell me to go take a nap. And probably give it more memory.
What would you do if you weren't a dental professional?
I would have gone into the legal field.
What is your favorite outside the office activity?
Traveling with my family. Our trips are always exciting and my son makes me laugh so hard!
What is your most memorable case as a practitioner?
Writing my blog - it has been fulfilling on so many levels. Professionally, I am thrilled to bring information and new ideas to the dental public. On a personal level, it helps me to keep my writing skills sharp.
What is your favorite tooth and why?
Any of the molars - strong and sturdy!
If you could be reincarnated into anything, what would it be?
A host for one of the Travel Channel shows. I'd love to travel the world.
What is your current passion?
Fraud & embezzlement are two huge issues facing dentists today. Helping practice owners to avoid becoming victims has become a priority for me. Reaching dental students with this message has become a passion. As in the clinical setting, prevention is fundamental to a successful business practice.
