As with all of our set-ups, the instruments – whether mirror/handle, probe, explorer or plier – can be customized to your preference.
All Hu-Friedy Explorers are hand-crafted from Duraspond™, a specially blended alloy that is thin, flexible and resistant to breakage. Duraspond explorers have the ideal balance of flexibility and strength. Hu-Friedy offers explorers in many styles. The After Five Explorer offers a longer shank to explore deeper pockets and assess calculus on the root surface. The EXTU17/23 Explorer features a balanced tip design – the working end is centered over the long axis of the handle. This preferred design allows a clinician to apply force to the working end without having to re-adjust the position of the instrument.
