Except for products with their own warranties (listed below), Hu-Friedy instruments have a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and Hu-Friedy will, at its option, repair or replace any product that fails as a result of any such defect. Hu-Friedy guarantees against breakage, joint failure, and corrosion under normal use. Instruments that show expected wear under ordinary use are not considered to be defective. Instrument “lifetime” means the ordinary expected life, which varies by type of instrument. Please call Hu-Friedy Technical Services at 1-888-TEC-TECH (1-888-832-8324) with questions about the expected life of any specific instrument type. Modifying or retipping an instrument or failure to provide proper instrument care, including proper cleaning and maintenance, may void this warranty. Sharpening and repairing minor tip damage are considered routine maintenance with normal use, and are not covered by warranty.
Presidential® Forceps carry a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Hu-Friedy®, at its option, will repair or replace, for a period of four years following the date of purchase, any IMS™ or IMS™ Signature Series® cassette that is defective because of material failure (including corrosion) or workmanship of the cassette shell. Hu-Friedy, at its option, will also repair or replace, for a period of one year following the date of purchase, any IMS or IMS Signature Series cassette that is defective because of material failure or workmanship of the internal and moving components. Purchaser must return the defective cassette (FOB Hu-Friedy, Chicago, IL) and must have previously provided Hu-Friedy with the registration card.
Hu-Friedy disclaims liability, under this warranty or otherwise, for damages arising from (1) user negligence, misuse, abuse or alterations to the cassette; (2) the use of commercial grade washers; (3) dental automated washer – disinfectors where manufacturer's processing guidelines are not followed; and/or improper set-up and installation of the device.
THE EXPRESS WARRANTY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND ANY APPLICABLE IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OR MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS, ARE LIMITED AS HEREINABOVE STATED. DAMAGES FROM BREACH OF SUCH WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT, AT HU-FRIEDY'S OPTION. CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM BREACH OF ANY APPLICABLE EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
Hu-Friedy, at its sole option, will repair or replace for a period of one year following the date of purchase, any SporeCheck™ incubator that fails as a result of a defect in materials or workmanship. Purchaser must return the defective incubator (postage prepaid) to Hu-Friedy.
HU-FRIEDY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PERFORMANCE OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY PRODUCT THAT HAS BEEN MISUSED, TAMPERED WITH, MODIFIED, RETIPPED OR REFITTED IN ANY MANNER.

Hu-Friedy, at its sole option, will repair or replace for a period of one year following the date of the first purchase as a new item, any Symmetry IQ® piezo generator unit (“Unit”) or Symmetry IQ® handpiece ("Handpiece") that fails as a result of a defect in materials or workmanship. Purchaser must return the defective Unit (postage prepaid) and must provide Hu-Friedy with the guarantee registration card. Excluded from this guarantee are damages in cases of:
- The Unit or Handpiece having been used outside of normal operating conditions;
- The Unit or Handpiece being damaged in transit;
- Non-compliance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions (water pressure, mains voltage);
- Use with an electrical system that does not comply with regulations in force;
- Uses other than those specified in the user manual;
- Non-compliance with instructions contained in the user manual;
- Service to the Unit or Handpiece being provided by non-authorized persons;
- Components exhibiting normal wear from usage;
- Damages/defects being caused by force majeure or any other condition that is beyond the control of Hu-Friedy.
- The Unit or Handpiece having been modified.
Repair service or replacement provided under the guarantee neither extends the guarantee period nor begins a new guarantee period. Damages from breach of the guarantee described herein are limited to the cost of repair or replacement of the Unit at Hu-Friedy ’s sole option . Consequential or incidental damages resulting from breach of the guarantee described herein are hereby excluded . Any statutory warranty rights shall remain unaffected by the guarantee provided herein. Please contact Hu-Friedy for instructions on obtaining warranty service.
Hu-Friedy, at its sole option, will repair or replace for a period of two years following the date of the first purchase as new item, any SWERV³® Magnetostrictive Scaler (“Unit”) that fails as a result of a defect in materials or workmanship. Additionally, Hu-Friedy, at its sole option, will repair or replace for a period of one year following the date of the first purchase as a new item, any SWERV³® Handpiece ("Handpiece") that fails as a result of a defect in materials or workmanship. Purchaser must return the defective Unit or Handpiece (postage paid) and must provide Hu-Friedy with the warranty registration card or proof of purchase.
Excluded from this warranty are damages in cases of:
- The Unit or Handpiece having been used outside of normal operating conditions;
- The Unit or Handpiece being damaged in transit;
- The Unit or Handpiece having been modified:
- Non-compliance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions (water pressure, mains voltage);
- Use with an electrical system that does not comply with regulations in force;
- Uses other than those specified in the user manual;
- Non-compliance with instructions contained in the user manual;
- Service to the Unit being provided by non-authorized persons;
- Components exhibiting normal wear from usage;

Hu-Friedy Ultrasonic Inserts provide a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and Hu-Friedy will, at its option, repair or replace any Ultrasonic Insert that fails as a result of any such defect. Hu-Friedy guarantees against breakage, joint failure, and corrosion under normal use. Instruments that show expected wear under ordinary use are not considered to be defective. Instrument "lifetime" means the ordinary expected life of the Ultrasonic Insert. Modifying an instrument or failure to provide proper instrument care, including proper cleaning and maintenance, may void this warranty.
Hu-Friedy orthodontic instruments carry a lifetime warranty against material defects and craftsmanship. Like all Orthodontic companies,“lifetime” references the life of the product. We guarantee your cutters for seven years and your benders and utility pliers for ten years. This covers breakage, joint failure, and corrosion under normal use. Proper cleaning and maintenance is required. Failure to properly care for instruments, including cleaning and lubrication may void this warranty. Hu-Friedy reserves the right to decide whether an instrument is to be repaired or replaced. Sharpening cutters and repairing minor tip damage is considered routine maintenance with normal use, and is not covered by warranty.
Hu-Friedy, at its sole option, will repair or replace for a period of one year following the date of purchase, any Sidekick Sharpener that fails as a result of a defect in materials or workmanship. Purchaser must return the defective Sidekick Sharpener (postage prepaid) and must have previously provided Hu-Friedy with the Sidekick warranty registration card.
