Why do you love Dental Hygiene?

Answer

When I was in practice, I loved my relationship with my patients. There was a personal relationship as well as a relationship to their health. Now as a Clinical Education Manager, I love educating the students and enforcing how important what they are learning is to their patients to come. I tell them, be a clinician and a health care provider not a tooth cleaner...it's what your patients expect and deserve!

When you were practicing regularly, what was your proudest moment?

Answer

I'm not sure I can say there was one proud moment. I was and am proud to be a hygienist every day!

How does being an RDH help you in your job at Hu-Friedy?

Answer

I think it gives credibility. I have used the instruments and understand from that clinical level what they are doing, so there is a trust in what I am talking about based on experience. In my education role, my experiences and stories enhance the concept I am teaching.

What do you do to support RDHs in the field?

Answer

Providing education programs (CE) to some of the local components. Membership in my professional organizations like ADEA and ADHA.

Why do you believe in Hu-Friedy products/the Hu-Friedy brand?

Answer

As a clinician, I always trusted Hu-Friedy instruments and the company because of the quality I experienced with all products...every time! Trusting a company is huge! I tried other brands, but always went back to Hu-Friedy!!! I also always felt that I, as a hygienist, mattered to Hu-Friedy. Now working for Hu-Friedy I know just how much the hygienists and dentist do matter to us. Our conversations are about what the educators, students and clinicians need, how we can make their lives easier and better with what we provide. Then you add the steps we take in manufacturing to insure quality and to provide the best so that the RDH and DDS can provide their best for their patients. I have always known that you never have to apologize for quality...that is why I believed in Hu-Friedy as a clinician and now as an employee.
